The Need:

One of the leading private power producer needed a disciplined governance process to be implemented to manage power generation projects involving US$% billion in investments.  The power projects were across both Hydro as well as Thermal plants. As an owner organization the need was define a Corporate PMO and strengthen the corporate visibility and control on project performance

Solution/Service:

I2m conducted a detailed requirement analysis as well as survey of the current PM practices and based on the critical need define not only a Corporate PMO but also defined SBU level PMO.  The PMO definition included
  • Defining the Vision and Mission of each PMO
  • PMO Function, Activities and Deliverables
  • PMO Staffing Requirements and Job Descriptions
  • PMO Implementation Road Map
  • Corporate Portfolio Views
  • Complete Planning and Reporting Processes including defining PM responsibilities of the EPC organization
  • Development of reporting and performance analysis templates
I2m also conducted a series of workshop across both the tactical and strategic management levels to align the organization to the proposed methodologies and processes.  A certification program to develop professional project managers was deployed aligned to the proposed methodologies.  Extensive project site visit were made to understand the realties as well as modify the methodologies/templates.
